About Terre des Hommes Denmark
Terre des Hommes is a humanitarian association, approved by the Fundraising Board under the Ministry of Justice with a §4 license. Our annual reports, the most recent of which can be downloaded from this website, are audited by Dansk Revision, Viborg.
We work 100% unpaid, alongside our regular jobs, and our motivation is entirely based on volunteerism.
Our primary mission is to raise funds for children in need, regardless of culture, race, or religion.
Terre des Hommes Denmark’s greatest hallmark is that the funds raised go directly to the children—this means we spend minimal percentages on administrative costs, ensuring that good intentions are not lost in heavy administration and bureaucracy. This is the philosophy behind Terre des Hommes Denmark, which has existed for 57 years.
We are a sponsorship association that, through sponsorships and partnerships, operates on the principle of helping children locally. This means providing support and opportunities for schooling, education materials, as well as support for food, vaccinations, proper sanitary conditions, and other necessary health expenses. Our long-term goal is for the children to learn to take care of themselves.
Children are our future. We cannot save the world, but we can make a world of difference. By helping from the ground up to combat poverty, improve health, and provide access to education and schooling, we align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Terre des Hommes Denmark is driven by passionate individuals who are committed to making a difference. Currently, we are working on 26 different projects across Asia and Africa, helping and supporting thousands of children.
Terre des Hommes Denmark was founded in 1967 and is part of the international organization Terre des Hommes International Federation (TDHIF), which, in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, helps children in need with protection, food, health, and education, regardless of background, race, or religion.
